Where would George Washington Sleep?

Posted on July 31st, 2008 in life , ,

On Dreshertown road, near where I live, there are two signs on the side of the road. One reads “Seasoned Firewood Sold Here.” All that brings to mind is wood in mesquite, adobo, sazon, bbq flavors. Maybe a new way of smoking fish? I don’t know.
The second sign is actually strange. It reads “George Washington [...]

Firefox 3.0

Posted on July 30th, 2008 in life , ,

Most casual users probably don’t realize what is coming around the bend from the Mozilla Corporation. Hell, I didn’t even know that a Firefox 3.0 was even close to a release, let alone how big a change it would be.
According to a BBC News article, the all-time best thing about blogs – tags and tagging [...]

Off and Away!

Posted on July 29th, 2008 in life ,

Picture the roaming gnome saying that. Today that’s what we’ll be. Roaming. We’re crawling up to Canada for about a week, to see my family from Finland. Its been about five years since I’ve seen my Aunt and her family, and its good to see my mom too, who I haven’t seen for well over [...]

Stonekeep on XP

Posted on July 28th, 2008 in life , ,

Stonekeep is not the hardest old dos game to get working on Windows XP, by far. Anyone who has toyed with Arena or System Shock (which at the time of writing can be found here, by the way), will find this one child’s play. It really consists of 3 key things.

Today I learnt something

Posted on July 25th, 2008 in life ,

There is such a thing as stale biscuits after all. Just like she said; wives are always right. I was taken totally by surprise – heck, it was February, not even last year!
But I taught my wife something new too: Chocolate Chip Cookies never go stale, as long as the chunks are big enough to [...]

Zombie fitness?

Posted on July 23rd, 2008 in Important Matters ,

I’m from Pennsylvania, so Zombies naturally concern me. While much zombie lore agrees Pennsylvania is the heart of zombie America, a recent study done in Pittsburgh spells it clear for us: “Insufficient emergency-management-personnel training and poorly conceived undead-defense measures have left the city at great risk for all-out destruction at the hands of the living [...]

So long, Blogger!

Posted on July 23rd, 2008 in life , ,

I’m moving to Wordpress today. Today was the last time I posted on blogger. I’ve dealt with Wordpress before, so its easier for me to control the styles and the minutes. But most importantly it allows me to self-host, so I get full control over the full show, which allows me to play more.
So long, [...]
